Skin Bar & Studio is a luxury medspa in Chicago's Old Town neighborhood — and the first standalone Biologique Recherche medspa in the city. Founded by Natalie, it offers personalized facials, injectables, and clinical skincare in a setting designed to feel like a sanctuary, not a clinic.
When she came to me, she had a logo and a handful of brand assets. What she needed was everything else: a visual language, a digital presence, and a commerce platform to match the experience she was building in person.
I designed and built the full site on Webflow and the integrated Shopify store — solo, from the ground up, for a brand that didn't exist yet.

Luxury medspas occupy a specific visual register — warm, considered, tactile. They're selling transformation through touch, and the digital experience has to make you feel that before you ever book an appointment. The challenge wasn't finding a style; it was executing it with discipline across every surface — homepage, treatment pages, memberships, shop, team, about — so that the whole thing felt like a single, intentional brand rather than a patchwork of pages.
The starting point was minimal: a logo and some initial brand assets, created by another design partner. My job was to extrapolate those into a complete system — color, type, imagery, layout, interaction — and then build both digital platforms that could run a real business.

The site architecture was designed to serve two audiences simultaneously: the new client deciding whether to book for the first time, and the returning client managing their membership and treatment history. The navigation is minimal — Treatments, Membership, About, Shop — with a centered wordmark and a persistent "Book Appointment" CTA that follows the user through every page.
Key sections include a treatment catalog organized by category (Aesthetic Injectables, Indulgent Skin Treatments, Nourishing Facials, Optimizing Vitamin Therapy), a memberships page with a side-by-side comparison system, a full about and team page, and a referral and rewards program integration. Every page was built from the same component system, so the brand holds together whether you're reading about Biologique Recherche facials or comparing membership tiers.

The store extends the Webflow site's visual system into a commerce context — no jarring shift in tone when you move from booking a facial to buying a serum. Product pages carry the same warm palette, the same type system, and the same editorial photography approach, with a clean layout that puts the product photography and clinical detail side by side.
The store features curated brand collections — Colorescience, Kerstin Florian, RescueMD — organized as a "Skin Bar Collective" rather than a generic product catalog. The framing matters: it positions the store as a trusted edit, not a storefront.

A complete brand digital presence — site, store, and visual system — built solo for a business that launched with nothing but a logo. The site runs real operations: booking, memberships, referrals, retail. The store moves product. The brand holds together across every page.
This is the kind of work that never fits neatly into a single case study frame. There's no campaign brief, no agency team, no launch event. There's just a founder — Natalie — with a vision, and a designer who built the thing that made it real.
